Feb 26, 1940 - The Air Defense Command is created to integrate U.S. Army Air Force defenses against an air attack.

Apr 8, 1940 - A B-18 made the first nonstop flight from Denver, Colo., to Miami, Fla.

Apr 14, 1940 - The first Air Corps detachment assigned to an Alaskan station arrived at Fairbanks, Alaska.
