Tyler Woodberry drove in seven runs Monday with a pair of home runs, his sixth and seventh of the tournament, to propel the Kaiserslautern Military Community All-Stars to a 13-8 pool-play victory over Italy at Little League Baseball’s European Regional in Kutno, Poland.
Woodberry, who started the game and struck out four Italians in two innings of work, was staked to a three-run lead in the first when Justin Wilson connected with two runners on base, KMC coach Eric Vincent said by telephone on Monday. Wilson’s homer was his third of the tournament, which began Friday. In total, the KMC 11-12-year-olds have left the yard 12 times in their four victories.

In Saturday's blog entry about the Kaiserslautern Military Community Little League All-Stars' victory over Ukraine, this blogger incorrectly identified future KMC pool-play oppenent Italy as the 2011 European Regional champion.
In reality, it was the Netherlands champions from Rotterdam who played in Williamsport, Pa., last August.

The Kaiserslautern Military Community All-Stars remained unbeaten in their quest for a berth in next month’s Little League World Series by downing the U.K. 8-4 in a pool-play game Sunday at Little League Baseball’s European Regional tournament at Kutno, Poland.
Tyler Woodberry socked a two-run homer, his fifth round-tripper of the tournament, in the first inning to put the KMC 11-12-year-olds up early, but the game became a diamond version of the arcade game “Whack-a-Mole” thereafter, according to KMC coach Eric Vincent.

The Kaiserslautern Military Community All-Stars displayed their trademark power hitting and power pitching Saturday in a 13-0 pool-play victory over Ukraine on Day 2 at Little League Baseball’s European Regional Tournament in Kutno, Poland.
Tyler Woodberry clubbed three home runs, and six KMC pitchers held Ukraine to just two hits as the 11-12-year-old champions of Germany posted their second consecutive run-rule shutout in as many games at Little League Baseball's European headquarters.

HEIDELBERG, Germany – Just like that, Vicenza’s Kirk Madgic and Ramsteiners Brett Freedman and Alison Spain became the U.S. Forces Europe singles champions Friday.
Madgic defeated Marc Goulet of Kaiserslautern 6-0, 9-7 to win the men’s masters title, Freedman outdistanced Mateo Sanchez of Heidelberg 6-2, 6-0 for the men’s open title, and Spain blitzed Catherine Thompson of Heidelberg 6-0, 6-1 for the women’s open crown.

The Kaiserslautern Military Community All-Stars opened their bid for a spot in this year’s Little League World Series with a 15-0 victory over Serbia in their opening game Friday at Little League Baseball’s European Regional Tournament at Kutno, Poland.
Tyler Woodberry, Jerry Van Sickle and Jared Mendiola combined to no-hit the Serbs in a game called by the 10-run-rule, KMC coach Eric Vincent reported by telephone on Friday afternoon. The trio allowed just two walks, and no Serbian runner got past first base, Vincent added.

The Kaiserslautern Military Community Junior League All-Stars lost their final pool-play game Saturday night, 16-3 to the Czech Republic, to complete their run at Little League Baseball’s Junior League European Softball Regional in the Milan, Italy, area.
The defeat left the KMC stars with a 2-2 record and out of Sunday’s title game in the four-day, five-team event. Poland (4-0) and the Czech Republic (3-1) advanced to Sunday’s title game, where a berth in next month’s Junior League World Series in Kirkland, Wash., was at stake. No report about that game was available at the regional web-site, www.littleleaguelombardia.org, on Sunday evening.

The Kaiserslautern Military Community All-Stars 11-12-year-old softball team dropped their third straight game Friday at the Little League Baseball’s European Little League Softball Regional tournament, 14-8 to Italy-champion Emilia. The loss eliminated KMC from contention for a berth at next month’s Little League Softball World Series at Portland, Ore.
No details about the game were available as late as Saturday morning. The KMC girls were to play the Netherlands on Saturday afternoon in their final game at the Milan suburb of Bollatte, Italy. Emilia, at 3-0, was to play the Netherlands in Saturday’s late game, then play the Dutch team again in Sunday morning’s title game. That winner advances to the Little League Softball World Series.

The Kaiserslautern Military Community Junior League Softball All-Stars erased the memory of Thursday morning’s 10-0 opening-game loss to Poland with a 20-4 romp Thursday evening over the Netherlands and a 10-9 verdict over host Italy on Friday morning in Little League Baseball’s four-day European Junior League Softball Regional in northern Italy.
The victories, about which no details were available Friday morning, left the KMC juniors 2-1 in pool play, and victory Saturday morning over the Czech Republic would guarantee KMC a berth in Sunday’s 11:30 a.m. title game in the Milan suburb of Bollate. The regional champion advances to the Junior League Softball World Series next month in Kirkland, Wash.

The Kaiserslautern Military Community Little League and Junior League All-Stars, both representing Germany in Little League Baseball’s European Softball Regionals, went 0-3 Thursday in opening-day play in northern Italy.
The Little League All-Stars (11-12-year-olds), vying for a berth in the Little League Softball World Series next month in Portland, Ore., fell 12-7 to Italy champion Emilia in their opener, then dropped an 18-4 verdict later in the day to the Netherlands. The Little Leaguers are scheduled to try to right the ship at 6 p.m. Friday in their second try against the Italy champs. Saturday morning, they’ll take on the Netherlands again.
Sunday, the tourney’s top two are to play for the berth in Portland.

The less-than-optimal pitching and defense which plagued the Kaiserslautern Military Community All-Stars all last week in Little League Baseball’s European Junior League Regional Tournament in Kutno, Poland, culminated in a tourney-ending 10-1 quarterfinal loss Saturday to unbeaten Italy.
The 13-14-year-old KMC All-Stars surrendered 63 runs in going 2-4 in the 11-team tournament, which sends Monday’s title-game winner – either Italy or the Czech Republic – to Little League’s Junior World Series next month in Taylor, Mich. KMC’s victories came in the team's second and third games in pool play, 16-13 over Belarus and 5-0 over the Netherlands. KMC reached the quarterfinals despite losing its final pool-play game to Germany, 16-6, by tying Belarus in the pool standings at 2-3. The Americans claimed the fourth and final spot in the quarterfinals from their pool by virtue of the head-to-head victory over Belarus.
Next up for KMC-area Little Leaguers are the Little League and Junior League Softball European Regionals to be played Thursday-Sunday near Milan, Italy. Those events, for 11-12- and 13-14-year-old girls, respectively, are to be played concurrently. The European Little League and Junior League champions advance to next month’s Little League Softball World Series in Portland, Ore., and Kirkland, Wash., respectively
