The Heart Truth - First Ladies
The First Ladies Red Dress Collection features red gowns and suits worn by America's First Ladies who have joined The Heart Truth® to raise awareness of the #1 killer of women—heart disease. Since its 2005 unveiling and month-long display at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Collection has traveled the country to give women a personal and urgent wakeup call about their risk of heart disease.
The fourth installment of the First Ladies Red Dress Collection premiered September 30, 2010, at the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station, TX. The year-long featured exhibit included red dresses from Pat Nixon, Eleanor Roosevelt, Lou Hoover, Bess Truman, and Jackie Kennedy, as well as a display of 12 designer red dresses from the Red Dress Collection Fashion Shows. Programming around the exhibit included a gala opening event, monthly educational seminars, heart health screenings, and other unique activities.
