Thumbnail preview ANNOTATION: Indications point to a strong movement to the requirement of smoke-free jails. This can be seen in: the increasing number of jails instituting no-smoking policies; formal positions adopted by professional corrections associations; and recent legal decisions. Eight strategies for successful implementation and six advantages in addition to a more healthful environment are noted. Few problems have been experienced.
