The purpose of the Accidental Release & Prevention Page is to assist federal, state, local, and industry stakeholders in complying with the Clean Air Act (CAA) 112(r) chemical accident release prevention requirements.
Rule Change Provides Exemptions from Reporting Requirements for Air Releases of Hazardous Substances from Farm Animal Waste--This January 2009 fact sheet provides information about continuous release reporting requirements for large animal feeding operations under the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA).

Accident Prevention and Response Manual for Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration System Operators [PDF] (80pp, 1.57 MB)--This manual summarizes the requirements of environmental laws and regulations in place to protect operators, other employees, and surrounding communities from the potential hazards of working with like anhydrous ammonia. CEPPO--The Chemical Emergency Preparedness and Prevention Office's (CEPPO) homepage contains information about CEPPO, CEPPO upcoming events, CEPPO publications, CEPPO-related legislation and regulations, electronic tools used to assist with with CEPPO, outside resources (non-CEPPO), accident prevention and risk management planning, accident preparedness and the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), emergency response, accident histories, and hazardous chemicals including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
