Welcome
In FY2009 the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) released a solicitation that exclusively focuses on providing services and programming for tribal youth in juvenile detention facilities in Indian Country.
OJJDP administers the Tribal Juvenile Detention and Reentry Green Demonstration Program which supports tribal efforts to provide comprehensive and quality programs for tribal youth who reside within or are being released from a tribal juvenile detention center. FY 2009 highlights the Green Demonstration Program. This demonstration program also marks the first time that OJJDP is sponsoring an initiative that encourages funding to tribal juvenile detention centers to partner with institutions and organizations to incorporate environmentally sustainable technologies or activities as part of the JDC's educational, training, and reentry activities for youth in detention, diversion programs or reentry. To learn more about the program and the grantees visit our About us section.
This website is meant as a resource to any Federally recognized tribe operating a Juvenile Detention Center as well as tribes interested in improving their juvenile justice systems for American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) youth.
