EPA participates in a number of international activities aimed at reducing risks, facilitating the sound management of chemicals, and preventing pollution. Complementing its domestic mission, EPA's international work to help ensure chemical safety primarily includes cooperation on scientific and technical issues, for example, on test guidelines, chemical assessments and risk management. Where appropriate, it may also involve promoting domestic efforts abroad and collaboration to further align and harmonize approaches toward mutual goals.
