Interior Design Program

South Lobby of GSA Central Office Building Washington, DC.

The Interior Design Program strives to create building interiors that express the vision, leadership, and commitment of the government in serving the public and expressing the values of the nation.

Great design requires a holistic approach, on behalf of both the public and the individual. Outstanding interior design in our public buildings is a critical component of the holistic approach, which seeks to provide not only functional spaces, but spaces that conduce to worker comfort, efficiency, and ultimately, high morale and productivity.

Professionally trained interior designers can offer a broad range of services in addition to creatively technical solutions, which can significantly enhance the aesthetics, comfort, sustainability, safety, and functionality of your workplace.

Interior Design extends the PBS’s commitment to design excellence into the public areas of existing federal buildings by creating welcoming spaces for the public and visitors, while maintaining safe, high-quality work places for federal employees. Doing so ensures the long term value of GSA’s real assets and the satisfaction of GSA client agencies.
