Congressman Fincher’s JOBS Act Passes U.S. House of Representatives 390 to 23

WASHINGTON — Today, the JOBS Act passed the U.S. House of Representatives 390 - 23. The JOBS Act is a legislative package designed to jumpstart our economy and restore opportunities for America’s primary job creators: our small businesses, startups, and entrepreneurs. Congressman Fincher’s H.R. 3606, which passed out of the House Financial Services Committee with bipartisan support (54-1), is the base bill for this package of bills.

Fincher IPO “On-Ramp” Bill Passes Out of House Committee

WASHINGTON — Today, H.R. 3606 Reopening American Capital Markets to Emerging Growth Companies Act of 2011 passed through the full House Committee on Financial Services. The legislation would reduce the costs of going public for small and medium-sized companies by easing regulatory requirements. Over the last ten years, the number of companies going public has fallen dramatically, hurting the ability of small companies to grow, innovate, and hire new workers.

Fincher Announces Military Academy Nominations

Candidates must be from the 8th district of Tennessee and are chosen based on academic ranking. Candidates will now have to be interviewed by the academy he or she is applying to and pass a physical and medical exam to be considered for an appointment.

Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Stephen Fincher (R-Frog Jump), praised the U.S. Senate passage of a bill he sponsored, H.R. 1264, to honor M.D. Anderson, by designating a square in Jackson, TN as the M.D. Anderson Plaza. The bill passed the House and the U.S. Senate and now awaits President Obama’s signature.

Fincher Praises Passage of the Farm Dust Regulation Prevention Act

Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Stephen Fincher (R-Frog Jump) voted in favor of H.R. 1633, which provides certainty to rural America regarding the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ability to regulate dust.
