The Reference Center was developed to provide users with access to pertinent information related to alkali-silica reactivity (ASR). The Reference Center has been organized for quick and easy access to various resources, and will be updated regularly to ensure that the most up-to-date information is available. Information that can be found on the Reference Center includes research reports, guidance documents, specifications related to ASR, field trials reports, and helpful links.
An ASR Stakeholder Technical Working Group (ASR TWG) has been established to monitor program implementation and provide technical assistance to FHWA program managers. The ASR TWG will monitor the program to ensure program objectives are met. Members of the ASR TWG are representatives of FHWA, industry, academia, other federal agencies, and State Departments of Transportation.
Reactive Solutions is a quarterly newsletter developed under FHWA's ASR Development and Deployment Program. Reactive Solutions will share developments of the Program, share what other States and agencies are doing to address ASR, and provide tools and information for readers to address ASR.
SAFETEA-LU Section 5203 (e) established funding for furthering the development and deployment of techniques to prevent and mitigate alkali silica reactivity. Funding was provided for $10 million over four years.
