U.S. Energy-Related Carbon Dioxide Emissions, 2011 Release
U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has released its online analysis of 2011 energy-related carbon dioxide emissions. It indicates U.S. carbon dioxide emissions from the consumption of fossil fuels were 5,471 million metric tons carbon dioxide (MMTCO2) in 2011, a decrease of 2.4 percent from the 2010 level. Emissions declined in four of the six years from 2006 to 2011 and were 9 percent below the 2005 level in 2011.
