CONGRESSMAN BERG ATTENDS WILLISTON AREA RECREATION CENTER GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY

WILLISTON, N.D. – Congressman Rick Berg today attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Williston Area Recreation Center – a 234,000 square foot recreation center located on the campus of Williston State College.  Berg was joined by local officials and members of the Williston community for the ceremony.

“The Williston Area Recreation Center will not only promote healthy lifestyles, it will also be a great place for people to have fun for generations to come,” stated Berg.  “I am excited to come back here with my family, especially my 12-year-old son Jack, as soon as it is completed.”

Included in the Williston Area Recreation Center will be a water park with water slides, a lazy river and a zero-entry splash pool, a fully-accessible instructional pool, a competition swimming and diving pool with spectator seating, an open gym with running track, a 13,000 square foot indoor turf field house space, tennis courts, a fitness center and multiple level community areas for all ages.

Williston is a rapidly expanding area.  Earlier this year, Forbes Magazine named it the sixth-fastest growing small town in America.  It is at the heart of the Bakken oil patch in western North Dakota.
