Small Business Group Honors Rep. Petri

The National Federation of Independent Business, the nation's leading small business association, has named Congressman Tom Petri a Guardian of Small Business for his voting record in the 112th Congress.

NFIB President and CEO Dan Danner praised Petri "because he is a long, consistent supporter of small business."

Petri said, "I am delighted to receive this award because we know that people who are operating small businesses work very hard and employ other people in many cases, and the last thing they need is the government making life more difficult rather than easier for them.  And I have tried as hard as I can to make sure, while we do need certain regulations, that they are reasonable and that people are as free as possible to get out about providing jobs for others and providing services to the rest of us."
