Boise Drug Dealer Sentenced to 100 Months
BOISE – David Fischer, 26, of Boise, Idaho, was sentenced today to 100 months in federal prison for distribution of methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced. Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill also ordered Fischer to serve four years of supervised release following his prison term and forfeit $12,000, which represents money Fischer received from dealing methamphetamine. Fischer pleaded guilty to the charge in October 2011.
According to court documents, Fischer admitted selling approximately one-half ounce of methamphetamine in Idaho on two occasions, December 15, 2010, and January 4, 2011.
The Fischer case was investigated by the Treasure Valley Metro Violent Crimes Task Force. The Treasure Valley Metro Violent Crime Task Force is one of 160 Safe Streets task forces nationwide in which local, state and federal law enforcement agencies combine their resources and expertise to address gangs and other public safety issues across traditional jurisdictional boundaries throughout the Treasure Valley.
Fischer was prosecuted by the Special Assistant U.S. Attorney hired by the Treasure Valley Partnership and the State of Idaho to address gang crimes. The Treasure Valley Partnership is comprised of a group of elected officials in southeast Idaho dedicated to regional coordination, cooperation, and collaboration on creating coherent regional growth.
