Three Jerome Men Indicted Federally on Meth Charges
BOISE – Three Mexican nationals residing in Jerome, Idaho, were indicted by a federal grand jury in Boise today, charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and other related drug trafficking and firearm offenses, U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced. The three defendants were arrested on January 13 in Jerome.
Jorge Cruz-Vizcarra, 37, is charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, distribution of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Lamberto Arroyo-Mora, 30, is charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and two counts of distributing methamphetamine.
Jorge Cruz-Gonzale, 18, is charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and distribution of methamphetamine.
The charges are the culmination of a three month investigation by the Idaho State Police into drug trafficking in the Jerome area. According to the indictment, during the investigation, officers purchased approximately one-half pound of methamphetamine. A search warrant executed last month at a Jerome residence located approximately two pounds of methamphetamine, five firearms, and $2,900 in cash. Two vehicles were also seized. According to the indictment, the government is seeking forfeiture of the defendants' assets.
The case is being investigated by the Idaho State Police, with assistance from the Jerome County Prosecutor’s Office, Jerome County Sheriff’s Office, and the Jerome Police Department.
An indictment is only an allegation of criminal conduct and is not evidence of guilt. A person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
