2010 Census

2010 Census Summary File 1 — This file will provide a number of detailed tables from the 2010 Census on age, sex, households, families, relationship to householder, housing units, detailed race and Hispanic or Latino origin groups, and group quarters. Most tables are shown down to the block or census tract level. Summary File 1 will be the first 2010 Census release to include data for zip code tabulation areas. Tables will also be available for states, counties, county subdivisions, places, census tracts, congressional districts for the 111th Congress and, where applicable, American Indian and Alaska Native areas and Hawaiian home lands. Some tables are repeated for nine race and Hispanic or Latino origin groups. The data will be released on a state-by-state flow basis for each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. (Scheduled for release June through August.)

Demographic

USA Counties — Demographic, economic and governmental data from the Census Bureau and other federal agencies, presented for the purpose of multi-county comparisons or single county profiles. National- and state-level data are presented as well. The data files cover topics such as agriculture, crime, education, health, retail trade and vital statistics. New in this update are 2010 Census race data, statistics from the American Community Survey 2005-2009 estimates on topics such as ancestry, Internal Revenue Service statistics on individual taxes, and 2007 Economic Census data, including statistics from the Survey of Business Owners. (Tentatively scheduled for release on June 8.)

International Data Base — Which countries are among the top 10 largest in the world today? Which countries will be in the top 10 by 2050? The Census Bureau routinely updates its International Data Base, providing estimates and projections for 228 countries and areas around the world. This release updates information about the size, growth, fertility and net migration for 19 countries. (Scheduled for release June 27.)

Living Arrangements of Children: 2009 — This report examines the diversity of children's living arrangements in households in the United States and describes extended family households with relatives and nonrelatives where their presence may have an effect on the development and economic well-being of children. (Scheduled for release in late June.)

School Enrollment in the United States: 2008 — Contains detailed analysis of school enrollment levels and trends for the population ages 3 and older. This is the second report in the series in which the data are based on both the American Community Survey and Current Population Survey. Various demographic characteristics of students at each level of school are examined, as are topics such as children's relative progress in school, the drop-out rate, type of school and type of attendance. Data are provided at both the national and state level. (Scheduled for release June 8.)

Economic

Survey of Business Owners: Company Summary: 2007 — These statistics provide estimates of business ownership by gender, ethnicity and race. The data cover employer and nonemployer firms and include sales and receipts, annual payroll and employment for 2007. Data are classified by industry, geography, employment and receipts size. These figures come from the 2007 Survey of Business Owners and summarize the individual data sets that have been issued over the past several months. Data for minority- and nonminority-owned firms are included in this release. Survey of Business Owners: Characteristics of Businesses and Characteristics of Business Owners: 2007 — National-level statistics on owner's age, education level, veteran status and primary function in the business; family- and home-based business; types of customers and workers; and sources of financing for expansion, capital improvements or start-up. Findings will be presented in a webinar news conference. (Scheduled for release June 14.)

County Business Patterns: 2009 — These statistics provide the only detailed annual information on the number of establishments, employees, and quarterly and annual payroll for most of the 1,100 industries covered at the national, state and county levels. For the first time, these data have expanded to include economic data for the four Island Areas -- American Samoa, Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Findings will be presented in a webinar news conference. (Scheduled for release June 30.)

Economic Indicators — The Census Bureau releases statistics that provide monthly, quarterly and yearly updates on key measures of the nation's economic condition. Upcoming releases in June include construction spending, manufacturers' shipment, inventories and orders and service industries. Current Industrial Reports (CIRs) — These data provide monthly, quarterly and annual measures of industrial activity. The 47 CIRs focus on groups of industries such as textiles and apparel, chemicals, primary metals, computer and electronic components, industrial equipment and consumer goods and provide current and historical data on production and shipments of selected products. CIR data are used to satisfy economic policy needs and for market analysis, forecasting, and decision-making in the private sector. 2010 Census

2010 Census Demographic Profiles — May 26 — Data for the last states, state equivalents and U.S. summary have been released — Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and the United States. Hispanic Population: 2010 — May 26 — This 2010 Census brief shows Hispanic population group distributions (i.e., Mexican, Dominican, Cuban, etc.) and growth from the national level down to counties and places. The brief contains six tables (including two ranking tables), two charts and three maps. The ranking tables present the top five states for detailed Hispanic origin groups with a population size of 1 million or more in 2010 and the 10 places with a population of 100,000 or more with the highest number and percentage of Hispanics in 2010. The three maps show the largest detailed Hispanic origin group by state, the Hispanic population as a percent of the total population by county, and the percent change from 2000 to 2010 in the Hispanic population by county. Age and Sex Composition: 2010 — May 26 — This 2010 Census brief looks at the age and sex structure of the United States, from the national level down to counties and places. The brief contains six tables and eight figures (three of them maps). Two ranking tables present the 10 places with a population of 100,000 or more with the highest and lowest sex ratios and the 10 places with a population of 100,000 or more with the highest and lowest median ages. Demographic

Current Population Survey: 2010 — June 2 — These sets of table packages are from the Current Population Survey and include detailed statistics about age and sex by five year age groups, the older population (55 and older), the Hispanic population (includes data from 2009), the black population and the Asian population. The tables provide a wide range of demographic characteristics about the U.S. labor force, such as marital status, educational attainment, nativity, employment status, occupation, poverty and housing tenure. Note that these data are not from the 2010 Census. Additionally, these estimates should not be confused with similar estimates from the American Community Survey (ACS) <http://www.census.gov/acs/www/>. Geographical Mobility in the United States: 2010 — May 23 — These statistics from the Current Population Survey describe the movement of people in the United States. Data tables show the reasons why people moved, types of moves, distance moved and the characteristics of those who moved between 2009 and 2010. Characteristics of New Housing: 2010 — June 1 — A series of tables with data on the features of new privately-owned residential structures across the nation and in each region. The data cover topics such as the type of wall material, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, type of financing, heating and square footage. The information was collected via the Survey of Construction. E-Stats: 2009 — May 26 — Annual compilation of data on electronic commerce derived from Census Bureau surveys on manufacturing, retail trade, wholesale trade and services. Shows 2009 and revised data by industry on e-commerce as a percent of shipments and sales, along with electronic shopping and mail-order houses by merchandise lines. Public Education Finances: 2009 — May 25 — These data tables show revenues, expenditures, debt and assets (cash and security holdings) of elementary and secondary public school systems for the nation, state and school districts. Other tables include per-pupil spending and detailed spending on instruction, special education, school lunches, transportation and salaries. 2011 Capital Spending Report: U.S. Capital Spending Patterns: 2000 — 2009 — May 23 — This report provides a historical look at the capital spending patterns for structures and equipment by U.S. businesses with and without employees at the national level and for businesses with employees at the industry sector level.
