Mike Sheehy Retires as Pelosi National Security Advisor: Wyndee Parker To Be New Security Advisor

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced today that Mike Sheehy, her National Security Advisor for the past six years, will depart the Speaker’s office this week for the private sector after more than 30 years of service in the House of Representatives.
 
“I want to thank Mike Sheehy for his outstanding service to the House and to our country,” Speaker Pelosi said. “Mike has been a trusted and valuable advisor to me for many years and I deeply appreciate his dedication and expertise in defense, intelligence and foreign affairs. He has helped shape the agenda this Congress has taken to develop and strengthen ties with other countries.  I wish him the best of luck with his new endeavors.”

Pelosi said her new National Security Advisor will be Wyndee Parker, who currently serves as Deputy Staff Director and General Counsel for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.  Parker, who also serves on the American Bar Association Advisory Committee on Law and National Security, will begin her new duties in the Speaker’s office next month.

“I’m delighted to welcome Wyndee Parker to my staff,” Speaker Pelosi said. “Her experience on national security matters will be indispensable on issues concerning the international community, particularly the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

Parker holds a bachelor’s from Duke University and a juris doctorate from the Ohio State University College of Law.
