U.S.-Iraq Business and Investment Conference

20-21 October, 2009 - Washington, DC

The U.S.-Iraq Business and Investment Conference (USIBIC) was held at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., on October 20-21, 2009. This major international event offered U.S. and international companies the opportunity to learn about business and trade opportunities in Iraq’s market of 28 million people.

The USIBIC promoted current investment and business opportunities in Iraq; provided matchmaking opportunities for U.S. and Iraqi firms; addressed the challenges to doing business in Iraq; and facilitated meetings between U.S. firms and Iraqi ministers and senior government officials.

INVESTOR GUIDE AND OVERVIEW RELEASED AT THE CONFERENCE

The National Investment Commission (NIC) of Iraq provided a new Investor Guide and Investment Overview for distribution at the USIBIC.

The guide and overview featured investment opportunities and general sector overviews in all the Iraqi provinces as well as focusing on the twelve industry sectors featured at the conference – agriculture, banking/finance, defense, electricity, health, education, housing/construction, industry, oil/gas, telecommunications, tourism, and transportation.
