OAK RIDGE, Tenn., Sep. 17, 2009 — Cameron Wainright is a highly motivated Clarksville High School junior entered in this year's Tennessee Governor's Academy for Math and Sciences being held at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Tennessee.

Cameron hopes to someday to perfect new energy sources.

"We need to get away from fossil fuels," Cameron said. "It would be great if we could find some type of alternate energy source or find a way to harvest more percentage out of an entire reaction rather than just 30 or 40 percent."

Cameron is one of 28 high school juniors from across Tennessee enrolled in the Governor's Academy.

For Oak Ridge National Laboratory, this is Fred Strohl reporting.

ORNL is managed by UT-Battelle for the Department of Energy.
