Stick with me and earn your Junior Ranger Badge!

Hi! My name is Gregg C. Goose!

Welcome to the
Junior Ranger Program
at Fort Stanwix National Monument.
I'm here to help you earn your Junior Ranger Badge.

As a Junior Ranger,
you can help
National Parks
in many ways:

-Learn the park stories.

-Stay safe.

-Help keep parks free of litter.

How do you become a Junior Ranger?

-Your parents can help or you can finish it all by yourself.

-You will need about two hours to finish.

-Complete all four bastions or points in the fort.

Follow the directions in this web page to receive your bastion gifts, your Junior Ranger Badge, and your Junior Ranger Certificate.

In each bastion you will discover:

-Junior Ranger Stories about the National Parks.

-Junior Ranger Fun Pages filled with activities to do.

-Secret Journals of real people who lived at Fort Stanwix long ago.

-Junior Ranger Links to Other National Parks.

If you click on a word that is differently colored, like
bastion, it will take you to the Word List Page to help you understand its meaning.

Good Luck! And Have FUN!

Did You Know?
Fort Stanwix has two names. Named for Gen. John Stanwix, this was the fort's name under the British. When the Americans rebuilt it was then named for Gen. Phillip Schuyler. However, there were several other Fort Schuylers in New York at that time, so the name never really stuck due to the confusion.
