Washington, D.C. - Following today’s series of votes seeking a full-year payroll tax cut extension, Congressman Tim Walberg released the following statement:

“House Republicans made the responsible decision to pass a full-year payroll tax cut extension, along with protecting Medicare recipients and encouraging American energy jobs.  We cut spending to prevent the raiding of the Social Security Trust Fund and we did not raise taxes on job providers. The Senate should return to work and provide certainty for families and our economy.  I will continue working to responsibly help Michigan families and grow our economy even if it’s unpopular with the Washington DC elite.”
