Answer to Your Question

What kinds of services does a Regional Extension Center provide?

Regional Extension Centers (RECs) are equipped with the personnel and resources to support and advise eligible providers in all phases of the electronic health record (EHR) adoption and implementation cycle. Your local REC serves as a support and resource center making the implementation or upgrade of EHRs easier throughout the process. Ultimately, the aim of your local REC is to help increase quality of care for your patients and maximize your overall productivity by helping you meaningfully use your EHR system.

  • Practice/workflow redesign
  • EHR implementation support and project management
  • Security risk assessments or referrals to security consultants
  • Meaningful use assistance, including advice for providers about the reporting required to receive incentive payments and navigating the attestation process
