Acquisition Solutions for Professional Engineering Services
GSA’s Professional Engineering Services (PES) make it easy to acquire solutions in the mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, aerospace, nuclear, and bioengineering disciplines. Contractors can provide a total engineering solution that follows the distinct phases of an engineering project.
Note: These services do not include architect, engineering, design, and construction services as defined by Brooks Act and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 36.
STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMS/ACTIVITIES
MAS contracts offer the expertise necessary for defining and interpreting high-level organizational engineering performance requirements.
This includes mission analysis, program goal development, and organizational performance assessment — as well as the best methods for achieving them. GSA can help define, interpret, and achieve organizational engineering performance requirements.
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT AND REQUIREMENTS ANALYSIS
GSA MAS providers conduct abstract or conceptual studies and analyses, define requirements, develop preliminary plans, and evaluate alternative technical approaches.
SYSTEM DESIGN, ENGINEERING, AND INTEGRATIONS
Get help translating a project into a preliminary and detailed design; performing risk identification, analysis, and mitigation; and developing a working prototype. GSA MAS can even help with computer-aided design (CAD) and modeling.
Contractors use various techniques to determine whether a prototype meets the original objectives. Methods include prototype testing, independent validation, simulation and modeling, and quality assurance.
GSA can help federal agencies gain access to professionals to analyze, plan, design, and repair systems throughout their life cycles. Included are tasks such as feasibility analysis, logistics planning, and development of standard operating procedures.
ACQUISITION AND LIFE CYCLE MANAGEMENT
Contractors are available to perform planning, budgetary, contract, and program-management execution functions to produce, render operational, and provide life cycle support for technology-based systems.
Contractors through GSA MAS can be an agency's on-site consultant during construction projects. They can act as the agency's eyes and ears during construction, resolving issues and ensuring that the project meets requirements.
IT PRODUCTS, SOFTWARE, AND SERVICES
The Information Technology (IT) GSA MAS 70 helps federal agencies access experts in hardware, software, and support services.
Using 20 Special Item Numbers (SINs), federal agencies can get help with obtaining products, software licenses and maintenance, and electronic commerce services. GSA can also help with HSPD-12 product and service components.
