    Thoughts while working out in the gym

    The Army 10 Miler-I spent this past weekend in Washington, D.C., where I ran the Army's most prestigious athletic competition: the annual Army Ten Miler. Four teams representing Team Bliss competed this year. The men's master's team, comprised of Soldiers aged 40 and above, won silver, finishing second in a very competitive division. The Team Bliss women's team placed third out of more than 50 teams competing in their division.

The team is comprised of military leaders, military parents and representatives from 10 of the surrounding school districts.   • Recycling Center Building Closed

    The Recycling Center Building is closed temporarily with temporary offices at BLDG 622. However, the Fort Bliss Recycling Drop Off Point BLDG 1334 is STILL OPEN FOR COLLECTION OF SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING, which is Paper, Cardboard (Flattened), Shredded Paper (Tied in a Clear Plastic Bag), Aluminum & Tin Cans (No Food, No Liquids, No Tobacco). Also, we recycle Personal Electronics, Ink & Toner Cartridges and Personal Scrap Metal at the Drop Off Point (Open 24/7 - Weather Permitting).

  • East Fort Bliss Pass Office

    The East Fort Bliss pass office is closed permanently. Anyone in need of a pass can use either the Chaffee pass office Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. excluding federal holidays, or the Robert E. Lee pass office 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To learn more, call 568-1890.

  • IOC Hotline

    The Fort Bliss Installation Operations Center announces the activation of the Fort Bliss IOC information hotline. The hotline, 568-3777, provides four groups of information: Option 1: antiterrorism/force protection information; Option 2: weather information; Option 3: community awareness (in-cludes road and gate closures, etc.); Option 4: commander's information.

  • In-Processing

    The Education Center in-processing briefing is in the General Instruction Facility at East Fort Bliss every other Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. Army Regulation 621-5 requires Soldiers to in-process within 30 days of arrival. This a formal, detailed briefing conducted by the Education Center personnel and different from the one conducted at the Welcome Center. For information, call 568-5635.
