Mona Rowe

Communications Manager

Mona Rowe serves as Communications Manager for the Photon Sciences Directorate at Brookhaven National Laboratory. She defines and directs projects in all aspects of communications and outreach efforts of the directorate, including the National Synchrotron Light Source and the National Synchrotron Light Source II, now under construction.

Rowe focuses on developing and strengthening relationships with multiple stakeholders, from staff and facility users, to elected officials and funding agencies, to neighbors and taxpayers.

Before joining the directorate, Rowe managed Brookhaven Lab’s Media and Communications Office. Core functions of that office were:
- Press relations, including spokesperson training and message development
- Internal and external communications, including print and electronic publications and content for the Laboratory’s website
- Strategic counsel to senior management
