The WEPP DOS user interface was first released in 1995. This interface software is no longer being updated and is replaced by the WEPP Windows interface and Web browser interfaces. 

If you are running Windows 95/98/NT/2000 consider using the Windows version of the interface. If you running are DOS as you primary operating system then a DOS specific interface can be downloaded from the page.

Climate Data 

The climate generator used in the WEPP DOS interface is version 4.2. The data archives are organized different from version 4.3 and 5.1. This data is specific to CLIGEN used in WEPP DOS interface. Climatic information for each of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and the group of Pacific Islands which the U.S. oversees, is available. The state datafiles are used with the CLIGEN climate generation model to create climate input files for the WEPP model at any of over 1000 locations. State map files are also available which can be used with the WEPP DOS climate file builder interface program.

Soils Data

The soils data used with the WEPP DOS interface should be the 1995 soil data files. The interface and model will not work with the long filenames used in the 2001 soil files.
