ENERGY STAR® for SSL: Getting Ready for September 30

This June 26, 2008 webcast presented an overview of the DOE ENERGY STAR® criteria for solid-state luminaires, which became effective September 30, 2008. Richard Karney, DOE, discussed the underlying strategy and details of Categories A (near term) and B (long-term) applications. Jeff McCullough, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, provided more details on the technical requirements and related test procedures. Marci Sanders, D&R International, provided an overview of the product qualification process, quality assurance, and tools and resources for manufacturers and program sponsors. The webcast also looked at future plans to keep pace with rapid technology improvements, including expansion of Category A products and ratcheting of efficiency targets over time.
