Tribal Systems
Each tribal child support program must operate an automated data processing system to maintain secure and confidential records and to automate case activities. Tribal programs have four options for a data processing system:
- Office automation
- Intergovernmental Agreement to access a state or another tribe’s system
- The Model Tribal System
- Another system secured with tribal funds
Tribes that choose an Intergovernmental Agreement or the Model Tribal System must submit an Advance Planning Document to obtain federal funding. We offer technical assistance, review and approval of advance planning documents—and office automation grant applications for tribes to start or continue a child support program.
