Quality Assurance Specialist

PURPOSE: To administer the Quality Assurance program for laboratory and administrative operations and assure systems are in place to perform on-going independent self-assessments. Employ quality assurance procedures to evaluate compliance of the project’s processes and products with applicable statutes, regulations, contract requirements, policies, plans, and procedures. Assist in determining if current methods and techniques result in meeting reliability standards.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Coordinate Quality Program implementation for the contract. Evaluate and resolve complex conditions applicable to the forensic laboratory and administrative operations and procedures.

 
  • Inspect, test, and measure techniques, utilizing statistical analysis and sampling, to study QA and quality problems in a forensic laboratory.

 
  • Analyze and resolve complex and sensitive QA and proficiency testing problems in broad and diverse forensic disciplines.

 
  • Facilitate team operations, prepare reports, policies, and other documentation and make presentations to management and others on QA findings.

 
  • Provide or arrange for training to employees to establish and promote an effective and mutually beneficial work environment.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college. Prefer forensic laboratory experience and five (5) years of recent experience in Quality Assurance. Mastery of QA, quality control and proficiency testing concepts, operating principles, regulations and methodologies required. Must have knowledge of inspection, test and measurement techniques, including statistical analysis and sampling techniques. Must have a high degree of skill in the application of principles of forensic science. Effective oral and written communication skills required. Interpersonal and leadership skills required. An active or reinstatable TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance is required for this position
