The Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension
Benefit Plans will hold a public meeting on April 8 in Room S2508 in the
Francis Perkins Building, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Ave.,
N.W., Washington, D.C.
The meeting, which will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon,
will serve as an orientation for new council members; review the assistant
secretary's report; report on advisory council working groups for the 1994/95
term and establish council working groups for 1996; establish procedures for
council and working group meetings and hear public testimony.
Individuals or organizations wishing to address the
council should submit 20 copies of their comments before March 25 to Sharon
Morrissey, acting executive secretary, ERISA Advisory Council, U.S. Department
of Labor, Suite N-5677, 200 Constitution Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20210.
Oral presentations are limited to 10 minutes, but witnesses may submit an
extended statement for the record.
Members of the public who do not wish to testify may
submit 20 copies of their statement to the above address. Individuals with
disabilities who need special accommodations should also contact the department
by March 25 at the address above.
The advisory council is a bipartisan group of 15 members
appointed by the Secretary of Labor to represent a wide range of interests in
the employee benefit area. The council advises and makes recommendations to the
Secretary on the administration of ERISA.
