    On March 28, Ambassador Kubiske, Honduran President Porfirio Lobo, USAID Assistant Deputy Administrator Mark Lopes, and World Bank Country Manager Giuseppe Zampaglione launched the two-day learning exchange "Building Safe Communities" in San Pedro Sula.

The San Jose outreach center is a partnership between the local community board and the Joshua 1-9 Evangelical Church and is a key component of the city's Violence Prevention Plan.

    First Visit of Ambassador Kubiske to La Ceiba

    Ambassador Kubiske visited the city of La Ceiba in the department of Atlántida for the first time on January 23 and 24. The two-day visit gave the Ambassador an opportunity to observe the municipality's proactive and collaborative approach toward crime prevention and the ways the U.S. Embassy is supporting these efforts.

    62 Students Graduate from San Pedro Sula English Program

    Public Affairs Officer Steve Posivak was the keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony for 62 students of the English Access Microscholarship Program and Centro Cultural Sampedrano in San Pedro Sula. The program provides two years of English language instruction to talented 16 and 17 year olds.

    Fulbright Chapter in San Pedro Sula Meets

    The San Pedro Sula Chapter of the Honduran Fulbright Association held its annual Christmas dinner to get together and discuss new ideas on December 14. As in previous years, the group raised funds to make a donation to the HIV/AIDS children's facility Hogar Amor y Esperanza of the city of El Progreso.
