Military and Veteran Women's Healing Retreat

Description
For more than two decades, Omega Institute has been working with veterans on issues of post-traumatic stress disorder. Combat and related military stress and trauma often results in anxiety, depression, homelessness, unemployment, abuse of drugs and alcohol, interpersonal violence, unemployment, suicide, and a host of other destructive behaviors. With the alarming rise of sexual assault in the military, and many other unique challenges, the wounds of war often run deeper and longer for female veterans.
This retreat, for military and veteran women only, provides a safe and therapeutic environment of holistic healing modalities and other helpful resources. Maj. (Ret.) Nisha Money, former chief of United States Air Force Fitness, and a team of healing arts therapists, along with financial, employment, and life-skill reintegration experts, guide us as we learn what we need in order to thrive. Throughout the week, we experience a variety of healing modalities, including equine therapy at a nearby equine estate, where we spend time with horses.
