I Want to Learn about Federal Work-Study
What Is Federal Work-Study?
Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs to undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, enabling them to earn money to help pay for school. The program encourages community service work and jobs related to your course of study.
The U.S. Department of Education’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used by nearly all colleges to determine eligibility for federal work-study.
You can:
- Apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov;
- Print out, complete and mail a PDF FAFSA application; or
- Request a paper FAFSA application by calling 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-730-8913 TTY).
Make sure you complete your FAFSA before the federal deadline. Keep in mind that your college or career school may have a different deadline.
