Rep Walberg Supports Defense Authorization, Votes To Help Battle Creek Air National Guard Mission

Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Walberg voted in support of H.R. 4310, the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which provides the pay, funding and authorities for America’s armed forces while rejecting the Administration’s attempts to further cut from our nation’s military.  He also voted in support of amendments to promote competition in government contracts and clarify that the Defense Authorization does not deny habeas corpus or any Constitutional rights for citizens detained in the United States.

“Our nation’s men and women in uniform deserve the faith and continued support of their country and government leaders.  I am especially pleased with provisions in this Act that prohibit the Administration from shuttering cost-effective programs like the C-27J that would have a significant negative impact at Air National Guard bases like Battle Creek. I will continue to fight for legislation that ensures our armed forces have the necessary resources and that our nation’s military posture is strong,” commented Representative Tim Walberg following the vote.
