About this Job: Navy Physician Assistants (PAs) work hands-on with supervising physicians and surgeons – enjoying exceptional freedom and autonomy when it comes to addressing patients’ needs. In this role:
- Provide many services that civilian physicians provide
- Handle primary-care issues or pursue a specific surgical subspecialty
- Oversee other members of the medical team
- Train in emerging need areas, such as emergency medicine, rural medicine and family practice
- Work in military hospitals and clinics on U.S. soil, overseas, aboard ships and with special operational units
- Assist in Navy medical relief missions worldwide

Qualifications and Requirements: Candidates must satisfy specific criteria to be eligible for employment consideration.
- U.S. citizenship: Required (note that foreign citizens licensed to practice in the U.S. will be considered)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Completion of a physician assistant education program approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA)
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Gender: Male or female
- Age: 18 to 41
- Medical exam: Required
- Physical fitness test: Required
- Service commitment: Minimum of three years of Active Duty
