NTSB LAUNCHES TEAM TO INVESTIGATE PLANE CRASH IN OWATONNA, MINNESOTA

July 31, 2008

The National Transportation Safety Board has dispatched a Go Team to investigate today's plane crash in Owatonna, Minnesota.  At about 10:00 a.m. CDT this morning, a BAE 125 (N818MV) operated by East Coast Jets crashed while on approach to Owatonna Degneer Regional Airport.  There are seven reported fatalities.
 
NTSB Investigator John Lovell has been designated as Investigator-in-Charge and will lead a 10-member team. NTSB Board Member Steven R. Chealander will serve as principal spokesman for the on-scene investigation. Terry Williams will accompany the team as press officer.
