NTSB LAUNCHING AN INVESTIGATIVE TEAM TO ORANGE COUNTY RAIL COLLISION

April 23, 2002

Washington D.C. - The National Transportation Safety Board is launching a team of investigators to the rail collision in Orange County, California. The team will include NTSB Chairman Marion Blakey and Investigator-in-Charge, Mike Flanigon and ten others.

The team will depart from Hangar 6 at National Airport at 3 p.m. today. NTSB on-scene Public Affairs contact information will be provided once the team has arrived and established a command post.
