Forecast Discussion: Discussion for October 15 to October 20: A classic “Indian Summer” pattern is in place over the Central Coast, leading to generally fair weather and warm temperatures. The air mass is expected to continue to warm through the week as offshore flow from north to northeast sets in. This should increase temperatures inland, along the coast as well as aloft, leading to a stable air mass. Although AQI’s can be expected to increase as the air mass stabilizes, most areas are expected to remain in the GOOD air quality category. However, AQIs at the warmer inland areas may reach the MODERATE air quality category, although exceedances of applicable air quality standards are not expected. |
