Forecast Discussion: 10/16/2012 through 10/21/2012 - Odor Advisory - Nipomo Mesa area of Southern San Luis Obispo County: The odors are due to decaying organic materials from White Lake in the Nipomo Mesa area. As White Lake dries and shrinks, organic material from the lake bottom becomes exposed and decays, resulting in unpleasant odors. Sensitivity to such odors is common. Strongest odors have been reported in the vicinity of California State Highway 1 at Fowler Lane near Lopez High School. -------- 10/16/2012 - Blowing Dust May Impact Oceano Dunes/Nipomo Mesa area: Some blowing dust may occur; however, the AQI is forecasted to remain in the good category. Extremely sensitive individuals with existing respiratory or heart conditions may experience adverse health effects and may need to take appropriate precautions.
