Forecast Discussion: Tuesday and Wednesday, mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-80s will enhance ozone formation in the Sacramento region. However, light to moderate onshore winds will help to disperse pollutants on Tuesday, and moderate northwesterly winds will disperse pollutants on Wednesday. These conditions, combined with low pollutant carryover from day to day, will result in Good ozone levels on both days. Thursday, an upper-level ridge of high pressure will move over northern California, reducing atmospheric mixing and producing sunny skies and slightly warmer temperatures. In addition, light and variable winds will limit the dispersion of pollutants. These conditions will enhance the formation of ground-level ozone, leading to Moderate ozone levels.
