The dedicated group of approximately 130 Navy Clinical Psychologists care for Active Duty and retired servicemembers and their families in a wide variety of settings. In this role:
- Care for patients in military hospitals and clinics in the U.S. or overseas
- Offer inpatient care, outpatient care and substance abuse programs
- Work aboard aircraft carriers or assisting Special Warfare/Special Operations units (such as the Navy SEALs)
- Serve on the faculty at the Naval Academy or with White House personnel
- Supervise training at one of the Navy’s American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited internship programs

Qualifications and Requirements: Candidates must satisfy specific criteria to be eligible for employment consideration.

- For practicing professionals: Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program or the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS)

- Service commitment: Minimum of three years of Active Duty
