• Camarillo teenager Mackenzie Souser testifies—March 17, 2011 – Fifteen-year-old Mackenzie Souser of Camarillo, CA, testified before a House Subcommittee about how her dad’s death in the September 12, 2008, Metrolink crash changed her family forever.
• Metrolink Crash Victims Confront Veolia Executives—The purpose of Monday’s meeting (February 7, 2011) was for victims of one of the worst train tragedies in U.S. history to share their personal stories with company executives who employed the engineer who caused the crash.
• House Tribute to President Ronald Reagan and Signing of the Ronald Reagan Centennial Commission Act—President Ronald Reagan would have turned 100 on February 6, 2011. To celebrate the President’s centennial, I introduced legislation to create the Ronald Reagan Centennial Commission, which President Obama signed into law on June 2, 2009. As a member of the Commission, I managed an hour of floor time in the House of Representatives on February 9, 2011, to allow Members of the House to pay tribute to our 40th President.
