Tech Editing

Welcome technical editors! Thank you for contributing your expertise to this step in the award process.

As a technical editor, you will ensure that the content of one or more Consensus Review Scorebooks is correct. The scorebook is then checked for grammar and style. The end result is a feedback report for an award applicant—a key customer product of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program.

In the right-hand column are links to several tech-editing tools. These job aids and the e-learning module “Tech Editor Preparation: A Refresher” serve as a review of the tech editor preparation course offered in April / May.

Reminder: Feedback comments should consist of

• A concise opening sentence that expresses a single thought—the “nugget”
• One or two examples
• The relevance or importance of the nugget to the applicant
