Centers of Excellence (COE)
Funds eligible health professions schools to establish or expand programs for underrepresented minority individuals to enter and successfully graduate with an appropriate degree from a health professions academic program.
Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP)
Funds eligible health and allied health professions training programs to establish or expand programs to assist individuals from educationally or economically disadvantaged backgrounds to undertake education and enter and graduate from a health or allied health professions program.
Nursing Workforce Diversity (NWD)
Supports increasing nursing education opportunities for individuals who are from disadvantaged backgrounds, including racial and ethnic minorities that are underrepresented among registered nurses.
Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS) (not a grant program)
Eligible schools apply for funds, which are allocated by formula. Applicant schools must have a proven track record of graduating students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Loans for Disadvantaged Students (LDS) (not a grant program)
Accredited accredited schools of allopathic or osteopathic medicine, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, podiatric medicine and veterinary medicine are eligible.
