The Los Angeles Regional Office (RO) provides benefits and services to approximately 706,000 veterans residing in the Southern California counties of Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Kern. VA benefits expenditures for veterans residing within the jurisdiction of the RO exceed $800 million annually. All Loan Guaranty activities for the six counties are under jurisdiction of the Phoenix Regional Office. Nine service organizations are collocated with the RO and maintain offices on the fifth floor near the Veterans Service Center. Public contact hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily Monday through Friday. The RO maintains additional Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment employees at the Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, Long Beach VAMC, Loma Linda VAMC and the VA Outpatient Center in downtown Los Angeles. A homeless veterans coordinator also conducts outreach at homeless shelters and service centers in the area.
