Welcome to PERS-4014
NAVY MUSIC PROGRAM CENTRAL MGMT BRANCH
Looking for a career as a Navy Musician?
Navy Musicians (MU) have a proud tradition of setting a high standard of excellence, and perform at the most professional degree in all musical styles. Along with musical talent, MUs must be constantly aware of the need to maintain the highest degree of professional competence and exemplary behavior.
As a member of a Navy Band, you will have the opportunity to perform virtually every idiom, from Sousa marches to top 40 hits. Your performances might include parades down Main Street USA or the Avenue des Champs Elysees in Paris; military ceremonies aboard carriers at sea; public shows and concerts, and live radio and television broadcasts.
The Navy Music Program includes 11 active duty fleet bands and two preferentially-staffed bands, all featuring professional musicians from around our nation. Each band operates within its own geographic area of responsibility, representing the U.S. Navy around the world.
The Navy Music Program is centrally managed by the Navy Music Program Management Branch office (PERS-4014), aboard Naval Support Activity Mid-South in Millington, Tennessee. PERS-4014 coordinates the assignment and distribution of personnel, equipment and funding to its activities worldwide, and coordinates the accession of applicants desiring enlistment into the Navy as a Musician (MU). PERS-4014 is part of Navy Personnel Command's Career Management Department (PERS-4).
