WDTV: Congresswoman Capito Targets High Gas Prices

Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito says that the time is now to take steps to keep down gas prices in the long run.

Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito says the climbing prices cannot be ignored.  She continues to look for support for what she is calling a five point plan to address high gas prices now, and in the coming years and decades.

She says now is the time since everyone is paying attention.  Her plan includes temporarily waiving boutique fuel regulations, utilizing our state's coal, and expanding onshore and offshore drilling, as well as natural gas use.

Gas prices topped $4.00 a gallon last week, even climbing above $4.20 in parts of Bridgeport Monday afternoon.

Stay tuned to 5 News for continuous coverage of the gas prices in our area.
