As natural disasters happen all over the world our country raises millions of dollars through telethons and other simple ways of asking for donations. We raised over $300 million for Haiti, $65 million and counting for Japan, and over a billion for katrina. Instead of raising taxes, how about asking for help? As natural disasters happen all over the world our country raises millions of dollars through telethons and other simple ways of asking for donations. We raised over $300 million for Haiti, $65 million and counting for Japan, and over a billion for katrina. Instead of raising taxes, how about asking for help? If our government hosted a telethone with celebraties, professional atheletes and community leaders volunteering to answer phones for a day I believe we could raise a significant amount of money. All money raised would be completely voluntary and to be used to pay off debt. This could done annualy over the next few years. It's time to ask for help. I believe this could go a long way with the public.
