Climate Change
Climate change introduces major uncertainties into agriculture, forest, and range production systems. The Research, Education, and Economics Mission Area - in partnership with the Forest Service and other federal agencies - conducts research that informs decision-making about strategic adaptation, greenhouse gas mitigation, and policy development. This provides the science-based information and knowledge that empowers farmers, foresters, ranchers, land owners, resource managers, policy-makers, and Federal agencies to both manage the risks, challenges and opportunities of climate change, and to reduce emissions of atmospheric greenhouse gases and enhance carbon sequestration.
