Michael GoldmanGeneral CounselAll contacts of a legal nature are made through the BNL Legal Office. This includes service of process (subpoenas), questions on application and interpretation of local, state and federal laws to laboratory operations, laboratory contracts and international agreements, and litigation. The General Counsel is the principal legal advisor to the Laboratory Director and staff on matters related to the Department of Energy's contract with Brookhaven Science Associates for management and operation of the Brookhaven National Laboratory. The General Counsel is also an officer of BSA, serving as Secretary of the company. Biographical InformationMichael Goldman graduated from Wesleyan University and Columbia University School of Law. After graduating from law school he worked for New York City law firms for a few years, was in-house counsel to a small public company, was President of a small public company. He has been employed at Brookhaven National Laboratory for over 30 years. He became Deputy General Counsel to Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC in 1998, and General Counsel in 2008.
